Show Notes

Remdesivir is commonly used to treat patients who are admitted to hospitals with Covid-19. Despite evidence proving it is harmful to those with kidney and other pre-existing conditions, it is still being used across the country instead of more effective alternatives and therapeutics. Nurses have dubbed it “Run-death-is-near” after seeing countless patients decline after administering it. Alex Stein and Stephen Yearout have dire warnings for Dallas residents to avoid hospitals like Baylor where they continue to treat Covid-19 patients with this drug.

Stein and Yearout have two things in common. Both are hosts of their own podcasts and they recently lost their parents at the hands of Baylor Hospital after receiving Remdesivir. Alex Stein is the host of Conspiracy Castle where I have been a guest. Stephen Yearout is the host of  Empower Dyslexia where Rachel Chumney and I went on to discuss special education issues in Richardson ISD.

They shared their painful experiences of trying to advocate for proper treatment of Alex’s mother and Stephen’s father. Alex’s mother Kelly was given Remdesivir despite explicit instructions not to do it. Alex recorded his exchange with the hospital staff when he questioned their blatant disregard for his instructions. He witnessed nurses making fun of his mother’s agony from wearing a catheter.

Stephen shared his account of taking his father Jerry to Baylor for the monoclonal antibody infusion only to be denied the treatment so he could be admitted instead. Stephen and Alex both expressed concerns for the level of care and the revolving door of doctors and nurses. They experienced most of the major setbacks at night while they were not there to witness.

Learn what to expect and how you can advocate for your loved ones if faced with hospital admission.
